The Ohrid Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service is a voluntary organization operating in the Lake Ohrid region, i.e. on the territory of the municipalities of Ohrid, Struga, Debarca, Vevcani, Resen and Pogradec. The core of the Service is made up of experienced alpinists from the Alpine Club PATAGONIJA Ohrid, which in partnership with the Ohrid Red Cross, have been developing the Service from the very beginning. Currently, there are about fifteen rescuers trained to act on complex technical terrain, as well as more than 30 volunteers, experienced alpine climbers, trained in logistics, search and rescue on non-technical mountain terrain. The Service has a modern operating and training center, two off-road vehicles and specialized equipment to perform complex rescue operations on the mountain. For the customer needs, the Service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week on the SOS line 13-112 or via the android application, that can be downloaded free of charge from the Play Store.
