On October 4th, 2022, the municipality of Gramsh organized a promotional event for a presentation of the activities carried out within the project “New Opportunities for Safe Winter adventures”, funded by the EU, program for cross-border cooperation between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Albania.
The project is implemented by the Ohrid Red Cross in partnership with the municipalities of Debrca from RNM, Gramsh municipality from R. Albania, and the Alpine Club PATAGONIA Ohrid.
The event was held at the firefighting department in Gramsh, where the open garage for the firefighting vehicles, the two donated vehicles, rescue equipment, and a motor boat were presented. This donation significantly increases the capacity and readiness of the unit for operating in difficult-to-access areas.
Also, for the needs of the Firefighting Unit, numerous training for rescuing on non-technical terrain and managing the donated rescue equipment was carried out by the Ohrid Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service within this project.
Mr. Klodian Taçe, Mayor of the Municipality of Gramsh, Mr. Besian Ajazi, Deputy of Gramsh, Ms. Holta Comino, General Director of the Firefighter Service, and Mr. Antonio Dodevski, Project Manager, addressed the present guests, expressing their satisfaction and gratitude for the successful cooperation in implementing these activities in R. Albania.
