Today at 1:11 pm, the Ohrid Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service received a call from a group of mountain bikers from the Netherlands, who reported that their friend sustained injuries on the right hip in a crash near Trpejko plain, south-east of Pestani. A three-man crew of MRS immediately went out on the field, and in a short time the person was located, immobilized and transported to the village of Pestani, where at 14:45 was transfered by the Emergency Medical Aid vehicle to the Special Orthopedics Hospital Sv. Erasmus in Ohrid.
Finally, another significant segment of our two-decade mission to develop the Mountain Rescue Service in the region around Lake Ohrid has finally been realized. Opening ceremony of the operational and training center, the first of its kind in our country and beyond. Many thanks to the European Union and the Ministry of Local Self-Government for the financial support provided through the cross-border cooperation program with Albania. Soon we will be releasing more details and a photo album of the opening ceremony.
P.S. Special thanks to the video to the Digital Box team
On the eve of the official opening of the new Operational and Training Center of the Ohrid Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service, with the decision of the Managing Board of the Municipal Organization, a new emblem was adopted which will represent the graphic identity of the Service in the future. With the transformation of the Mountain Rescue Unit and inaccessible terrain into a Mountain Rescue Service, there has been a need to rebrand and change the logo, which we hope it will be a recognizable sign of service in the wider region for many years.
